Exploring Trip Policy
- Class not required for Exploring Trips!
-
- NONDISCRIMINATION AND RESPECT FOR MOTHER NATURE:
- All ECOLOGICAL 4-WHEELING classes, seminars and tours are offered on a
nondiscriminatory basis and with the greatest respect for Mother Nature. We
use only designated trails and areas, and when required, permits are
obtained from the responsible agency.
-
- RESERVATION PROCEDURE:
- You may reserve with (confirmed) or without (unconfirmed) a
deposit. Include your name, address, home and work telephone numbers, and
the name of the trip(s) of interest. About four to six weeks before the
trip, confirmed reservations are mailed an information packet with
trip details and forms, and request for balance due. Confirmed
reservations are given priority. Unconfirmed reservations will be
notified if space is available. Make checks payable, and mail
reservations to: the address/phone/fax below.
-
- DEPOSITS and FEES:
- Deposits and trip fees are NONREFUNDABLE regardless of reasons,
partial or nonparticipation. A $20 cancellation fee is charged and a partial
deposit or trip fee refund may be made for trips canceled by you, but filled
by another, if requested. Deposits and trip fees are trip-transferable
within the same calendar year, but not from year to year. For trips canceled
by Harry Lewellyn, a full refund is made. Trip fees are the amount listed in
the trip description until six weeks before the trip. Reservations made less
than six weeks before the trip are charged a 20% late registration fee.
-
- ITINERARY:
- Due to the expeditionary nature of EXPLORING TRIPS, the exact
accommodations, meals and itinerary may change. Every effort is made to
conduct the trips exactly as presented, but that is not guaranteed. When
changes are made that affect trip cost, additional fees may be requested or
partial refunds issued for the change in services.
-
- DISCUSSION:
- College class or prior trip participation is not required for EXPLORING
TRIPS. Fully insured, street legal, four-wheel drive (4WD) vehicles are
required for both college and EXPLORING TRIPS. Stock sport utility vehicles
are acceptable and generally, modifications are not required. At a minimum,
your 4WD must have reasonable ground clearance and a low-range transfer
case. All-wheel drive, sedan/van type vehicles and towed trailers,
regardless of design, are not accepted. You should be capable of operating
on your own. Water, CB radio, spare tire and equipment to change it, working
seatbelts and windshield wipers/washers, spare fan belts, yank strap, metal
top or roll bar, trash bag, toilet paper and shovel, and completed Self
Vehicle Inspection, Exploring Trip Policy forms plus a separate
Registration/Liability form for each participant, regardless of age, are
required on all trips. Most difficult (black diamond) trips
require front and rear tow hooks and high-performance tires. Camping trips
require self-contained camping equipment plus food and drinks. see THE
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS of each trip description for additional requirements or
suggestions. All furnished accommodations and meals are based on double
occupancy. Single travelers pay the same rate. Check regarding fees for
additional passengers or children if not specified. Harry Lewellyn reserves
the right to screen and reject any reservation or participant. For college
trips, their policy takes precedence.
